Google Ads across Canada · Windows and doors
Google Ads for window and door companies.
A homeowner who wants new windows searches Google, compares a few companies and asks for quotes. We build the campaigns that put you on that short list, the page that turns the visit into a quote request and the tracking that ties every call to its cost. The goal: leads from homeowners in your territory, with a real project.

What your customers search for
A renovation project starts with a search.
Nobody replaces their windows on a whim. The homeowner notices condensation, a draft or a door that doesn’t close properly, then searches: “window replacement”, “front door”, “patio door”, often with the name of their city. At that point, they no longer want advice, they want quotes. Google Ads puts you in front of them at that exact moment.
A window and door contract is worth far more than a click. So the price of a click matters less than the cost of a signed quote, and that is the number our campaigns track. To get there, you have to pay for the right searches, and only those.
This sorting is never done once and for all. Google matches your keywords to related searches, and new phrasings show up week after week in the search terms report. We read it regularly: what produces quotes stays, and what costs money without paying off goes on the exclusion list. Over time, the budget focuses on the searches of your future customers.
Searches that name a city also deserve their own treatment. “Windows Laval” or “front door South Shore” come from a buyer close to you. We group them by territory, with ads that name the city, so the homeowner sees right away that you come to them.
Example: searches that trigger your ads
- window replacement terrebonnepaid
- steel front door installationpaid
- windows 11 update not workingexcluded
- torn window screenexcluded

The most expensive mistakes
Five mistakes that make you pay for useless clicks.
Each one takes a few minutes to check in your Google Ads account. None of them is fixed by raising the budget.
- 01
Keywords that attract the wrong searches.
The word “windows” also draws people looking for help with Microsoft Windows, a windshield, a window screen or a spare part. Job searches and do-it-yourself tutorials come on top. Without exclusions, you pay for those clicks.
Check: in the search terms report for the last 90 days, spot everything that has nothing to do with your offer.
- 02
An ad area wider than your territory.
By default, Google shows your ads to people located in your territory, but also to people interested in it without being there. For a company that travels to the customer’s home, the “Presence” setting is often the better fit.

An ad or a page without an RBQ licence number.
In Quebec, the Régie du bâtiment requires this number in every form of advertising. It also reassures the homeowner, who can check your licence online before calling.

Ads and a page in English only.
In Quebec, the Charter of the French Language requires commercial publications to be in French, including online. An English version can be added for your English-speaking customers, with its own page.

A form that sorts nothing.
A plain “name, email, message” form attracts tenants and the merely curious as much as homeowners ready to sign. Four questions are enough to sort them: the type of property, the number of openings, the city and the project timeline.
Check: before calling back, does your team know how many openings the project involves?
These fixes don’t require a bigger budget. They require a well-built account, then a monthly follow-up based on real quotes.
What the engagement includes
Campaigns built around your products.
One team handles the campaigns, the page and the tracking, then adjusts them every month based on the quotes you sign.
One campaign per product.
Windows, front doors, patio doors: each product gets its own keywords, ads and page. You see what each one brings in, and the budget goes to what you want to sell.
Keywords · Exclusions · TerritoryA page that gets people to request a quote.
Photos of your installations, RBQ licence, warranties, service area and a qualifying form: the homeowner finds the answers and requests a quote. Your website stays in place.
Copywriting · Design · FormEvery call and every form, tied to its source.
A trackable phone number, conversion tracking in Google Tag Manager and your tracking portal: you know which campaign produced which lead, and at what cost. Our guide on call and form tracking explains the method.

Demand isn’t the same from one month to the next, and your installation crews have a capacity. We adjust the budget to your busy periods and to what you can deliver.

Is this the right time?
For companies ready to keep up with demand.
We manage campaigns for renovation companies, including window and door companies. Google Ads delivers when your team can call back quickly, measure on site and install within a reasonable time. If your schedule is full for the year, wait: a campaign is useless if nobody can respond. If you also do roofing, see how we separate emergencies from replacements in our campaigns for roofing companies.
- Your quotes come mostly through word of mouth, at a pace you don’t control.
- You already pay for advertising without knowing how many contracts it produced.
- You want leads that are yours alone, from homeowners who chose you.
Frequently asked questions
Costs, timelines, rebates: your questions about Google Ads.
How much does Google Ads cost for a window and door company?
Two amounts, always kept separate. Our management fees generally range from $700 to $3,000 per month, depending on the number of campaigns and pages to build. Your ad budget comes on top and is paid directly to Google: plan on at least $1,000 per month, often more depending on the competition in your territory. The proposal states both amounts before you commit. Our guide to Google Ads costs covers the rest of the calculation.
How soon do the first leads come in?
Your landing page is ready in 7 to 10 days, and a standard campaign is live in about two weeks. The first leads come in over the following weeks. To know whether Google Ads is profitable, meaning how many quotes turn into contracts, plan on three to six months. The engagement also requires a minimum commitment of six months, with fees billed monthly.
Google Ads or a quote platform: what’s the difference?
A quote platform usually sends the same request to two or three contractors, who end up competing on price. With Google Ads, the homeowner lands on your page and contacts you. The lead is yours alone, and you stay in control of the message.
Should the ads mention rebates and grants?
Yes, when a program applies to your products: it can help a homeowner take action. Programs change often. We check what is available when the campaign runs, and we remove the mention as soon as a program changes or ends.
Who owns the Google Ads account?
You do. The account is in your name from the start. If the engagement ends, you keep your campaigns, your history, your access and your data.
